MADI Signal Converter, Re-clocker and Extender

The DirectOut EXBOX.64 is an active signal converter, re-clocker and extender for MADI signals. It has one MADI optical and one MADI coaxial I/O and signals can be converted either way, coaxial to optical or optical to coaxial. The input signals, which don’t need to be in sync, are cross patched to the corresponding output and the output signal is re-clocked at the output.

The input signal is bit transparent allowing other MADI formats (AES10) to pass through unchanged.

The EXBOX.64 is powered by two external power supplies (one supplied as standard and the second PSU optional) fitted with secure Hirose connectors for safe operation and redundancy

The output signal of the coaxial port is electrically refreshed and with the addition of a short fibre optic loop, the range of BNC cabling may be extended from approximately 100m to 200m or with a short coax loop, the fibre optic connection can be similarly doubled from 2km to 4km for multimode fibre.

A signal will not be output unless a valid input signal has been detected at the corresponding input port.
